![]() Uninstalled Norton Security Suite to ensure that it wasn't the culprit here, and Firefox still couldn't download anything (not even add-ons this time). ![]() In addition to this, I CAN download files through the Microsoft Edge browser, so this appears to be an issue completely localized to Firefox.ĭoes anyone have advice for what to do at this point? I'm going to try to re-download and install Firefox to see if there's just some sort of file corruption that caused this, but if that doesn't work, it looks like I'll need to use a different browser for downloading anything.Įdit:UPDATE: Reinstalled Firefox to no avail. ![]() I noticed a few reddit threads about downloads failing for large files, but I haven't even been able to download a 2.2MB zip file. Nothing has worked, which seemingly absolves any add-ons/antivirus software from being the problem here. From there, I decided to go through a list of suggested fixes including clearing download history, resetting the download folder, starting Firefox with no add-ons enabled in safe mode, temporarily disabling my antivirus software (Norton Security Suite), etc. While checking for a solution, I noticed that many people had this issue about a month ago, that was apparently caused by parental controls set by Windows, but I don't have any parental controls set up with Windows at all. I recently had to do a clean install of Windows 10 on my computer and after reinstalling Firefox (version 70.0.1) I have been unable to download ANY files (even from mozilla!) due to the download immediately failing.
